Utility Locating Technician (3-5 years experience)
Job description – Part-time/temporary Contract – $25-$28 per hour
Assist lead technician in completing private utility locating services for residential and commercial customers. If the candidate doesn’t have previous private utility locating experience, this position will advance your knowledge and broaden your experience into other utility locating techniques: Ground-Penetrating Radar (GPR), 2-man Induction, Concrete Scanning GPR, Electro-Acoustic instruments, and GPS/GIS Mapping. Initially the position is for temporary contract with a 3-month probationary period. Good job performance may lead to full-time position and pay increase.
Candidate must have experience with following:
- walking several miles/day.
- lifting up to 40lbs several times/day.
- working around high-traffic areas.
- interacting with city officials, engineering companies, and the public.
- maintaining safety of electronic equipment.
- reading maps, and ability to use Google Earth.
- have proficient experience with Electro-magnetic Induction (EMI) techniques.
- have firm understanding of underground infrastructure.
- Completing projects independently, complete all quality assurance paperwork, and observe all Target Locating safety procedures and guidelines.
Candidate must complete short written quiz as part of the interviewing process.
Contract employee must have health insurance, or sign release waiver.
Workman Comp insurance provided by Target Locating.
Pay: $25-$28 per hour
Expected hours: Minimum 40 per week
